xfce 4.4.0

Prieš porą savaičiu buvo išleistas xfce 4.4.0. Prieš tai naudojau xfce 4.3.99 (xfce 4.4.0 beta) suinstaliuota iš išeities tekstų (source). Naujajį xfce sudaro 22 paketai. Paketus kompilaiviau šiuo eiliškumu:

Naudoju Slackware curren (šiuo metu 11.0). Paketus darau su chekinstall (http://asic-linux.com.mx/~izto/checkinstall/).
Konfiguruoju komanda ./configure –prefix=/usr , kompiliuoju su make. Tada prisijungiu kaip administratorius (root) ir darau paketą:

Dabar jau mes turime paketą xfce4-dev-tools-4.4.0-i386-1.tgz. Jei prieštai sistemoje buvo instaliuota senoji xfce versija (< xfce 4.2) ją reiktų pašalinti removepkg xfce, jei buvo instaliuota xfce 4 beta versija (xfce 4.3.x) tada paketus galima atnaujinti (kaip dariau aš) su komanda upgradepkg:

Taip atnaujinus visus paketus perkraunasm grafinę aplinką.
Nuo senosios versijos yra gan daug atnaujinimų, naujas bylų tvarkimo įrankis, lengviau konfiguruojamos panelės (dabar jų gali būti daug, padėtos betkurioje ekrano vietoje, betkurioje panelėje gali būti įterptas įskiepis (xfce-goodies)). Ši versija turi integruotą kompozitorių (?) (compositor) kurio pagalbą langai turi šešėlius, būdami neaktyvus ar judinami jie gali būti permatomi. Dauguma pakeitimų matosi ekrano nuotraukose:
